SpotPing Privacy Policy
Last updated: 23 October 2026. SpotPing ("the app") is a location-based reminder app. This policy explains what we collect and why.
What we collect
- Phone number (or Google account email and name, if you sign in with Google) – to create and secure your account. Phone verification codes are sent and checked by Google Firebase Authentication.
- Reminders and saved places – titles, notes, the locations you choose, radii and schedules, stored on our server so they follow you across devices.
- Device location – used on your device to show the map and to detect when you arrive at or leave a reminder location, including while the app is closed (background location). Your live location is not uploaded or stored on our server; only locations you explicitly save in a reminder or place are stored.
- Microphone / speech – only when you tap the voice button to create a reminder; speech is processed by your device's speech recognition service.
How we use it
Solely to provide the app: sign you in, store and trigger your reminders, and send you notifications. We do not sell your data, show ads, or use it for profiling.
Sharing
We share data only with service providers needed to run the app: Google (Firebase Authentication, Google Sign-In, Google Maps) and our hosting provider (DigitalOcean).
Retention and deletion
Your data is kept until you delete your account. To delete your account and all associated data, email amitmaurya.ald@gmail.com from your registered address or mention your phone number, and we will erase it within 30 days.
Security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS and access tokens are stored in the device's secure storage.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13.
